Fishing on ice

I have to write something more about fishing on ice.
I prefere to go to a frosen lake in some backcountry area.
You nead a tool to get hole in the icesurface. If the ice isnt to thick you can use a axe. But usually you have to use some kind of drill, spesially made for this. ou have to try several places to find the right spot.
The best places are where streams comes in / ore out the lake. Because the whater goes faster here and bringing more food to the fish. ( Be avere of thin ice in this places )Find where the whater is about 2 meters deap. Use a this fishing line, atatche something lika a "Clark Squid Spoon" on to it. finally Atatch a short fishing line ( about 40 cm long )and a small hookin the end. Use som maggot ore something like that for bite. Dropp everythind down to the bottom and pull the fishline upp again about 50 cm. Now you are readdy. Start to do small movements up and down, hold still, do it again....
Some times you have to fix the fishing line beside the hole. and take a breake. When you came back - maby fish . Happy fishing.

I like the photo. havent tried ice fishing yet but maybe some day..I would rather be ice climbing!
I do hope that you will write more about this winter sport. We have frozen lakes here where I live and I noticed a few fishermen there the other day. We need a licence to fish in Canada .. do you need to buy one where you live?
